Wimbledon to Pay Men and Women Equally
Well, it's about bloody time this happened is what I say!!!
Wimbledon is now stepping into the 21st century and giving women what they are entitled to. Equal pay for un equal work.
John McEnroe was quoted as saying:
"When you've got men and women playing at the same tournament, it is ludicrous to have a difference in pay. It would be setting an example to the rest of society in general to have equal prize money."
And yes, he was being "serious" (geddit?).
But I think Billie Jean King summed it up best when she said:
"This news has been a long time coming. Wimbledon is one of the most respected events in all of sports and now with women and men paid on an equal scale, it demonstrates to the rest of the world that this is the right thing to do for the sport, the tournament and the world."
So now women will get the same prize money for winning their 3 sets that men will get for winning their 5 sets and who could argue with that???
Besides, who would you rather wank over watch, Lindsay Davenport or some sweaty man-git?

Yes, it's gosh-darn-t00ting wondyfool that women are now paid the same as men for only doing 3/5ths the work the men have to do. Wymin's wites w00les.
